Too many factors:
He says it wasn't him
She says it wasn't her
It's really better for the "girl" so she'll never have to admit to the "golden showers"

As a parent, we have no control over what our children do. Unless we are with them 100% of the time, which is almost impossible.
Little kids are adventorous and like to try the forbidden things. We have all been through that stage of life before.
It is both the kid's fault and the fault of R-Kelly if in fact it was really them on the tape. It would not be just R-Kelly's fault. The child was matured enough to know right from wrong. And these kids know way more than we think they do. They know the laws and everything. Unless they are intricately stupid.
So dont ask what kind of parent lets their daughter do this and that. That is a very dumb question. Do you know what your kid is doing now as we speak? What hanging out with her friends at the mall? Ummmm... think again ma'am.
TIP: I once went to shoot hoops with some friends. I noticed these kids (about 9 - 12 yrs old) being dropped off by parents - so they could play ball.
Guess who showed up - the drug dealer. Selling them trees. And yes, they were smokin up and not playing ball.
And I'm sure the parents thought they were just playing innocent little basketball.

Yes, I do know where my daughter is ("ma'am"--what are you a cop)...and I'm not saying parents know exactly where their kids are at all times. We do, however, (unless you're really naive) know what type of kids we raise (if we are good parents who pay attention) and know the people they hang out with and the activities in which they participate.
Not a dumb question...and her family's not supporting the charges for one of thee reasons:
1) It's not true
2) It is true they don't care...they're celebrity whores
3) It is true and they feel, at least partially, responsible.
She was thirteen! Young teenagers shouldn't have time to go have sex with hip-hop artists in hotels.
I agree with almost every thing you said except that most parents dont have a clue as to what their kids are up to thats why we have things like Columbine after it happened all we heard from the parents is they had no clue.
Parents should know where their children are and what they're doing at all times.
The man has made good music, but he should be in jail, period.

He got away with it...the jury just wanted to go home as quickly as possible..that is very aparent...they did not care about justice, just about getting out of there as quickly as possible and going home..another case that proves the American Justice System is in serious trouble.

Unfortunately, justice is denied yet again. Perhaps if it were a Caucasian singer, then more people could have protested, and the news agencies would have had more of their influence over the masses to confirm guilt. It's just so commonplace now that a black singer, actor, athlete, performer, politician, is doing something wrong... it's just considered normal, and hence, not illegal.

Another one to add to OJ, Jon Benet Ramsey's folks, and tons of others who are allowed to commit crime in this country if they have the money to "prove" they didn't. Absolutely pathetic legal system, when in the same month 415 kids who were raped, abused and forced into marriage are sent back to the homes it was happening in. I dunno, I guess multiple pregnant 14-year-olds with broken arms isn't enough evidence to substantiate these "claims."

I think he is guilty because I saw clips of the tape and he was found another time with child pornography and to that the fact that he married the late singer Aaliyah when she was just 15 and it to me spells G.U.I.L.T.Y. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

I would love to be put on a pedistal as these famous actors singers ect are put on, but in the end who is suffering? The peole who are not actors singer ect. None of us really know what happened and who are we to judge him or the girl. All I say is that we as parents should be more carefull and pay very close attention to what out kids are doing whether it's a boy or girl. Our society is in danger because the mind frame of the majority is ANYTHING GOES. So if we stop buying the music, clothes etc and start teaching our kids to have better morals and set higher standards than maybe alot of this confusion can cease.

Kelly is not squeaky clean and I thought possibly his former marriage to underage R & B singer Aaliyah would hurt him since it does prove he is capable of being with someone under legal age, but it is true that money can get you out of a lot of things. The other thing is that it also shows that some of the witnesses were obviously seeking money to testify against him AND it can be said that some were paid to dispute the facts. If he did do it, just like Michael Jackson, he'll eventually get caught. OJ got off and was dumb enough to get caught in something else. If he doesn't learn his lesson this time (even associating with underage girls, like Michael Jackson with kids in his bedroom), then next time he'll definitely deserve what he gets. OJ deserves it. He should have gone somewhere and sat down, instead he was cocky and that's what got him caught.
